Welcoming Clayton Braden to Team Wrangler | Twisted X

Team Wrangler | Twisted X are very pleased to announce that Clayton Braden has joined our fantastic team of sponsored riders. Born and raised in Mount Isa, Clayton is certainly at the top of his game in the Saddle Bronc riding industry. He resides in North Queensland, where he lives and works on a cattle station with his wife Kaili and their children.

We took a moment to catch up with Clayton and see where it all began. Growing up attending rodeos with his family, it just became second nature to Clayton—his family actually used to run their own rodeo at their property, “Micavale,” where he won his first buckle in the mutton busting.

Clayton is known to many as a true family man, but here’s what he had to say when we asked him to best describe himself in five words: humble, determined, cowboy, hardworking, and fun. Great response from someone who is definitely dedicated to his chosen sport and has the work ethic to achieve his goals.

There have been many people who have influenced Clayton throughout the years—way too many to mention. So many have helped and driven him to success so far in his career, but Ronnie Finch and Norm Stagg are certainly the first to come to mind when we asked who Clayton’s biggest influence has been.
Clayton’s most memorable moments competing so far have been winning the Saddle Bronc at Cloncurry Rodeo and then winning the Ken Coleman Saddle Bronc Shootout shortly after.

Here’s a fun fact about Clayton you wouldn’t have known: when he competes, he rides in odd socks. This may just become a trend with aspiring young Saddle Bronc riders. Off the back of this, we thought it would be a good time in the interview to ask Clayton what his best fashion tip is. A very simple response from Clayton: “Wear Wrangler!” With western fashion trends being a main focus of our business, who could blame us for asking! It’s always interesting to hear people’s fashion ideas.

Our team here at Wrangler and Twisted X are always keen to support the next generation, as they are at the beginning of their careers and getting ready to chase their dreams. We like to give our professional riders the opportunity to offer some words of wisdom for the journey ahead. Here’s Clayton’s advice: “Make sure you give it 100% every time you compete.” Good advice for anyone competing in any sport.

Clayton may be a man of few words, but we hope the remainder of 2025 is an even more successful year of Saddle Bronc riding for him, and we wish him the best of luck.
