Both Ryder and Katie compete competitively on the Australian Professional Rodeo Association (APRA) circuit, making the Pierce family a strong presence in the sport.
While Tayla competes in breakaway roping, her heart has always belonged to the ladies barrel racing. Barrel racing is what fuels her passion and drive - the event that has defined her journey since she first entered the arena at just four years old.
Over the years, Tayla has experienced the highs and lows that come with a life in professional sport. Her dedication paid off early, earning her two Australian Barrel Racing Titles in the Under 18 division with the APRA. In recent years, she achieved another major milestone by qualifying for the National Finals Rodeo as one of the Top 15 barrel racers in Australia.
A large part of that success came aboard her beautiful big bay mare, Money, who carried her to multiple open rodeo wins and became a cornerstone of her career. This year, Money retired due to a paddock injury - a bittersweet moment marking the end of an era.
Now entering a new chapter, Tayla is focused on seasoning and training young horses. While the competitive spotlight may look different for a season, her passion remains just as strong. She finds pride in the small improvements, the steady progress, and the belief that “Rome wasn’t built in a day.” For Tayla, success isn’t just measured in buckles and titles - it’s found in resilience, growth, and the next generation of horses and riders.
Grounded in family values, hard work, and authenticity, Tayla Pierce represents the true spirit of Australian rodeo - making her a natural fit for the Wrangler legacy.
