Catching up with one of the youngest members of Team Wrangler/Twisted X, we spoke with Mick Knight to get the story of how his rodeo career began and what’s next for 2023. Mick may have followed in the footsteps of his eldest brother to the rodeo arena but has definitely put his own stamp on the rodeo industry.

Wrangler (WR): How did it all begin for Mick, tell us the story of how you got into Campdrafting & Saddle Bronc?

Mick Knight (MK): Started out campdrafting at a young age with my family, did that for all of my younger years. It wasn’t until I saw my eldest brother heading off to rodeos with his mates and seeing him compete, that’s when I caught the rodeo bug and began riding Saddle Broncs.

WR: How would you describe yourself in 5 words?

MK: Go enjoy what you do!

WR: Who have been your biggest influences?

MK: Definitely my brothers!! They have done more for my rodeo career than I can explain. But without the loving support of my parents, I would be nowhere near where I am today.

WR: Most memorable moment in riding Saddle Bronc?

MK: Winning the first Wrangler Xtreme Broncs Australian Title & the Xtreme Broncs finals average in the same year.

WR: Tell us a Fun Fact about you?

MK: May know most of the songs you will DJ driving of a night.

WR: What advice would you like to give the younger generations starting out in Saddle Bronc?

MK: You will never know what you can do if you don’t try.

WR: What is your best fashion tip?

MK: Wear Wrangler and wear it proud!!

WR: What’s coming up for the remainder of 2023?

MK: Hopefully, winning cheques; but to be at any rodeos with my good mates is a win for me.
